    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

To be frank, MCB 150 has made me cry weekly. It made me really study, possibly for the first time in my entire life. But as a pre-med student, I know it's an amazing prep for the MCAT. You know you really learn a class when you still remember the information years later, and that's exactly what the MCAT expects. MCB 150 isn't just simplistic memorization, it forces you to truly learn since the questions are based on application of knowledge.

    Course highlights:

Brad Mehrtens is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and I do not bestow this lightly. He explains concepts in a way that makes you understand, but at the same time challenges you to think beyond that. MCB 150 will challenge students, as it is dubbed the "weedout course" but that doesn't make it impossible. By the end of the semester, students are always shocked to realize just how much they have learned.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Whatever you think the maximum amount of work is, exceed it. Whatever studying activity is too time consuming, do it. If MCB 150 was a walk in the park, everyone would be taking it. But it's not, and students taking it are definitely not everyone. Just remember this: you are much smarter than MCB 150 will make you think.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is really good at explain the concepts precisely and clearly and makes the course so interesting that I have stronger determination to become a doctor in future. Life is so amazing and adamant.

    Course highlights:

The professor and the amaze of human body are the highlights of this course. I learnt a lot about the molecular and cellular biology like the function of the DNA and the formation of the cells. This course is a great introduction to the micro world in human body.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is important to do the pre-class reading assignment and do the post-class online homework. Pay attention to the parts that the professor highlights during the courses. Go to the office hour.
