Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you haven't taken Chem in a really long time, maybe since Sophomore year of high school or so, I highly recommend taking Chem 101 before jumping into Chem 102. Most people I have talked to that jumped into Chem 102 regretting not taking 101 first. Chem 101 is a great way to ease you into chemistry and will help a lot in Chem 102 with that background.

    Course highlights:

This course has definitely prepared me a lot for Chem 102 and definitely refreshed my memory from what I learned in high school chem. You also learn quite a bit of new things that will help you later on in Chem 102 and so on. If you took AP Chem in high school, this course is a pretty thorough review of that.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

One thing I do highly recommend is, make sure you go to office hours or see a T.A/Tutor early on. Do not wait until right before the exam because it won't be enough time for you to understand the material and also everyone tries to get help right before the exam, making it harder for you to meet with someone for help. Also ALWAYS go to lecture, it's a great way to earn easy points through clicker questions. It may not seem important at first but it will definitely help your grade down the line when the semester starts to get rough.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Its a good intro class but he's not that good of a professor.

    Course highlights:

Mioy is a nice guy but falls behind on lectures.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the labs and the homework. The final is worth the same as all the test so study for that.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Gretchen was an amazing professor. She taught with clarity and if someone had confusion she would answer their questions.

    Course highlights:

The demonstrations she put on really helped me understand the concepts we were going over. I learned to pay attention to those demonstrations because they related to labs we did, which were always on exams.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the sections she gives for prelecture assignments, at least a day before lecture because you will understand more of the lecture. Also, take lab and discussion seriously because those are places you learn a lot from your TAs. PLEASE GO TO OFFICE HOURS.
