    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it because it teaches you the fundamentals of programming with a strong base in java programming. It also gives you insight into the basics of data structures such as linked lists, stacks, and queues.

    Course highlights:

-The weekly MPs were fun, and helped learn something new each program -There's also plenty of extra credit

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

-Always do the prerequisite reading and lecture notes -the quizzes will NOT be easy but if you read the material and practice for the final before hand, you should be fine

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class provides students with the essentials of object oriented programming. It helps students think through a new way of processing information that they may not be familiar with. It also gives students the ability to get hands-on experience.

    Course highlights:

The course went through the main concepts of Java, such as objects, classes, and variables. Further, students learned to write iterative and recursive methods. This class went beyond the scope of the average intro to cs course by introducing students to the basics of data structures and the format of common sorting algorithms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to start working on the machine problems as soon as they're assigned. Even simply reading the assignment right away gives them an advantage.
