    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Prof. McDermott incorporates different projects to make the class more fun. We were put into study groups, so everyone always had people to study with. She was always there during her office hours, and was open to any questions I wanted to ask.

    Course highlights:

I learned different theories of sociology by using powerpoint notes, ted talks, funny animated videos that my professor found on youtube. We had two debates. These debates did not seem fun at first, but once I met with my group, my ideas changed. They were cool, fun, and easy to talk to. We watched the 2016 presidential election on T.V. while putting together our debate. It was a bonding experience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours. Do not be afraid to ask question in class or outside of class. Do the homework and do not leave it till the last minute. Make flashcards to help with memorization.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Very interesting class about the theories surrounding sociology. Super applicable to real life, and has the ability to change your perspective on the world that we live in.

    Course highlights:

Focuses on main theorists such as Marx, Weber, and Durkheim along with Parsons, Davis, Merton, Coser, Collins, Dahrendorf, Foucault, Mead and Cooley.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

The books are encouraged to buy in order to keep up with readings and to contribute to class, however they are not absolutely necessary. You can get away without buying a few of them. As long as you go to class and take thorough notes you will know everything you need to know for the exam!
