Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You learn a lot about argumentation theory. Must attend class to pass. The take home exams are really the only way you earn points in this class, and they are basically 2 page papers due every week.

    Course highlights:

Analyzing famous political speeches, looking at court room trials, rhetorical devices, fallacies, lying and deception, implicatures, etc.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Jacobs is not the most entertaining lecturer, but his class has made me a better writer and makes me think critically. If you go to class (don't use your phone in class), do each take home exam (you must turn in 10/14) and go to office hours if you're confused about a topic, you will do fine.
