Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She is very good at explaining concepts and each class, she reviews what she talked about the previous class so you stay in the flow of the material. Also, going to SI Tutoring sessions helps a lot!

    Course highlights:

I learned that certain things we were taught about biology earlier could be evolving. For instance, Protista is no longer one of the kingdoms under the Eukarya domain; it's just a subgroup now

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always attend lecture and attend SI Tutoring

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Coleman is extremely approachable and knowledgeable: her teaching style is thorough and engaging without being overwhelming, and she always makes the class laugh. She gives ample opportunities for extra credit, and clearly instructs us on the material we need to know for tests, as well as how to study for them.

    Course highlights:

I learned the importance of paying attention in class, and the benefit of the weekly study sessions her TA's hold for the students. She thoroughly covered the basic tenets of biology and the scientific method. Her pop quizzes could actually be pretty fun sometimes!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take good notes. And go. to. class. Do the extra credit opportunities, and be sure to sign up for your MasteringBiology account by the time the first assignments are do if you want to have a replacement test grade (just in case you bomb one). Buy your clicker -- those points really add up at the end. Use the SI sessions any time you start to get confused, rather than waiting til right before a test to cram.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely loved this class. Just make sure that you study several days before a test (not just the night before)! Make sure you manage your time. If you complete the exam review and make notecards you will do just fine!

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of things. I really enjoyed learning about the organic molecules because it was really interesting to see what roles they play on the human body.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

STUDY. Make sure that you study several days before the exam and not just the night before. If you take notes, complete the review, and make notecards then you will be fine. Also make sure you read the instructions on the exam! Sometimes she tells you things to do for bonus points.
