    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course. It is required as a nursing major, because medication administration is a vital part of your career as a nurse; however, if you have the option to take it with Jenna (Bergum) Seawright you most definitely should! She is the most amazing professor I have had at Clemson. She genuinely cares about the students and ensures that you master the material so that you are not lost when you are thrown into your clinical and/or nursing career. Very interesting course which is actually fun to learn about!

    Course highlights:

From this course I gained a comprehensive understanding of medications, including: their brand and generic names, their mode of action, their adverse effects, what to take them with and what not to take them with. You also learn some fun facts about some drugs and what they are used for primarily and secondarily. The professor I had also would give real life example from her practice as a nurse and nurse practitioner of encounters she had with the medication that would help to make it more concrete in your mind when you were studying.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to study every day, but hey, you're in nursing school so you already knew that! Take a little bit of material every day, do not try to to cram 35 drugs into your memory the night before the exam because it will never work!

Very challenging course, but I learned so much!

I became familiar with the name, action, route, side effects, and nursing implications of most drugs, which will help in a clinical setting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study every week, and do not wait until right before the exam to cram.
