Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for each entering freshman at Clemson. It is important that each student be aware that your attendance, readings in and out of the classroom and time spent on the material outside of class are all vital to passing the course. College isn't like high school, so students should be prepared for a lot more work that requires more effort than usual.

    Course highlights:

I loved the final project in this class. It was a multimedia project, so we chose a topic with a group and had to present it using different types of technology. It really allowed for each of us to be creative and show our skills with media. In this course you will mainly learn how to build the best paper you can. The course takes you step by step through how you should approach an essay. For example, your outline or your bibliography. The course just walks you through each aspect so that you can put together your best work. This class will end up being very helpful for your writing assignments in future classes!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Focus on your papers and be thorough. Make sure you attend class because skipping only makes things harder for you in the end. Its also important to use your professor! They are in that position for a reason, so attend their office hours for even the smallest questions and contact them through email any time you need help. They are usually a huge help and it could land you some extra credit in the end!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I put four stars because of the professor, not the course itself. The course is mandatory for pretty much every major, but the professor I had made the class really great! She understood that this class wasn't a major course for us, so she didn't make assignments unnecessarily time consuming or hard. She just asked for our full attention in class and I really liked her due to her willingness to compromise.

    Course highlights:

The professor really stressed pre-writing, which isn't something I usually do, so forcing myself to pre-write was a bit of a challenge!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is a pretty easy course, but don't forget it. There will probably be much harder classes that require much more work, but don't forget this class. Let it be a GPA booster!
