This class was tough.
Absolutely incredible class! I'm not a history major and Dr. Marks made the class I thought I wouldn't understand so enjoyable. Definitely a hard class and you will have to work for your grade, but so worth it!
For one, the teacher was incredible. He told lectures almost like stories so that they were easy to understand and remember. The class worked in chronological order, meaning that we jumped around to different parts of the world. I never thought I would learn so much about so many rulers and people. We were required to know geography for the quizzes and therefore I learned the locations and major events in so many countries!

Advice for students:
Take very detailed notes in lecture; They will be your main study guide for quizzes and tests. When it comes to studying for the quizzes, highlight main events, people, and places (know their locations on a map) that stand out- they will most likely be the answers to identification questions. For tests, make sure you attend the study sessions before as the teacher's assistants hint on what the essay topics may be. This will allow you to narrow down notes for studying and make the tests a lot easier to comprehend.
