Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course, even to those not majoring in microbiology, because it is such an interesting class. You learn such a wide range of information, from how bacteria duplicate and reproduce to various types of diseases. You also learn about viruses and other microscopic organisms that can have impacts on the microbial world. Dr. Krista Rudolph also teaches the course and her lecture is just as great as Dr. Whitehead's!

    Course highlights:

My favorite unit was definitely when we learned about food-borne illness. Because not only was the material interesting, but it was applicable to my every day life. I knew long before I took this class about food spoilage and the likes, but I never knew some of the things I learned in this part (like there are food spoilage bacteria that grow the best IN the refrigerator).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You definitely need to go to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should still attend, because both professors give important information that they don't include in their slideshow presentations. It is also good to read over material often, especially during units that are covering more information.
