    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is extremely hard, but Dr. O is an amazing professor! Because Dr. O challenges you, you will really learn the material.

    Course highlights:

Even though I'm a law major, I thoroughly enjoyed the course because I learned so much about chemical reactions and the properties of matter. Labs were really fun because you get to do experiments that give you hands on experience with the concepts you are learning about in class.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

DON'T GET BEHIND IN HOMEWORK. Seriously. You will make the class ten times more difficult if you get behind and the homework is a great study tool. Read your textbook too. It often explains concepts in a different way that can give you more insight into them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I really really love this course. It is definitely tough if you don't have much experience with chemistry in the past, but it is the class that got me interested in the world of chemistry and made me feel like I could actually understand chemistry. My teacher is definitely helpful as well, she teaches us the important things and explains why they are important.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is that I was actually gaining a knowledge of why certain things in chemistry behave the way they do. We learned about why the noble gases are placed on the periodic table the way that they are. We got to learn about why and how you have to balance chemical equations before you can begin stoichiometry etc. It's really interesting.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for this class is to put a lot of work into it. Make sure you do your homework and if you still don't understand it, go online and watch Khan Academy or go to tutoring sessions. You absolutely have to understand how to do things in this class or you will fall behind and not be able to catch up because everything in this class is related. Chemistry involves a lot of math and math means practice, practice, practice!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor challenges you and you really learn the material.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the molecular orbital theory and also acid-base titration as well as enthalpy changes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the chapters before lecture and work the homework as soon as you can. It is easy to fall behind
