Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

One of my all time favorite classes. Professor selden made it fun and easy to master all of the material.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the history of psychology as well as just a lot of psychological terms and practices in general.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just study for the tests a lot. She gives out most of the homework answers in class, so pay attention

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In general, psychology is an incredibly interesting science, but Professor Jensen-Martin has a gift to make it even more fascinating. It was in her class that I realized I wanted to be a psych major.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were all of the information I learned and the connection made with the professor. She is more than willing to give career advice or further explain points during lecture hours.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice I could give to prospective students is to attend class and engage in lectures; you don't need to participate, necessarily, but listening is highly recommended. She gives study guides before exams that very directly express what she will put on the exam.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

When i sat in Professor Wood's class everyday during the summer for two hours, time would fly by. He is a great teacher and he makes learning new topics very interesting and he bring quirky humor on a daily basis. You can tell that he cares about his student and that he is passionate about what he does.

    Course highlights:

My favorite subject to learn about was Sigmund Freud. Freud was a psychologist in the 1800's who had a very interesting way of looking at things. He believed that at a time women get upset and experience distress due to their jealousy of not having a penis. I also enjoyed learning about the several perspectives in psychology, such as cognitive, behavioral, and biological.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study really hard and pay attention in class. Make sure to read the text before the lecture, so you actually have an idea on what he is talking about. If you don't it might overwhelm you because it is a summer course and goes at a much faster pace. You will end up studying for more than 2 hours if you want an A. I encourage you to ask questions and give your input on subjects. Giving feedback to the professor makes class a lot more interesting.
