Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are interested in learning about the human body and how it works, this is a great class for you. It includes many hands-on labs, cool field trips, and even videos of live surgeries! This class is unique because not only does it teach you about different parts of the body, but it also explains the function and purpose of each part.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me were any and every lab we did. Labs, for me, were a great way of applying what I learned in PowerPoints or from our book to real life and was helpful in learning how to identify different parts of the body on real organs or other tissues.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flashcards for every chapter you have. I found that flashcards were the most helpful in a course that is very strongly "memorizing-based". That being said, it would be wise to take this course if you're really interested in the human body because it does require dedication to put everything you learn to memory.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is such an engaging class that offers experiences that are unlike anything else that is offered. You get to dissect a number of things, the most notable of which is a cat. I would recommend this class to someone who is pretty serious about science as it is not the easiest course offered. However, I enjoy the challenge that it brings to my day. The best piece of advice that I can give is to read the book!

    Course highlights:

You get to do things in the class that you are not going to get to do anywhere else. Dissections range from a cow's eye to a cat and you get to partake in labs, like blood typing... using your own blood! I have done some of the coolest projects in this course and perhaps the most notable was the Frankenstien Body Project, where we built full scale replicas of the human body out of household materials.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I highly recommend that you read the book. If you do not, you will struggle on the assessments. There will be things that will not be covered during actual class time as there is simply too much to cram into that frame. You will need to comprehend the text in your book and if you don't, seek out the teacher in a common free period or during help class.
