Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because I was always challenged to do my best which made me a better student. There was a lot of busy work involved but it was practice which helped to understand. Math isn't my favorite subject but the math in chemistry was enjoyable. I knew this course wasn't going to be easy as it was the hardest class of my junior year. I knew it was going to need effort and hours of studying.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning the polyatomic ions and the periodic table. There was a lot of math involved which included everything I learned throughout the year. Not only did the busy work and notes help but the teacher. If you didn't understand something Dr. Beth would find a different way to explain or would work you through the problem step by step.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, you need to take your time on all assignments in order to fully understand the concepts. It is important to read the book while going over the notes, working problem after problem. Quizlet helps tremendously when it comes to memorizing things and studying for the tests or quizzes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Taking Chemistry has really taught me the value of true responsibility. Through this course you will learn to memorize certain things and have homework online. Both of these things help prepare you for college. Not in the same manner as all courses, claim. I'm completely serious because college will have online work. Dr. Beth is also an amazing instructor. She will help you learn tricks to help you when you are struggling through certain things in class. Dr. Beth will also give you a 'GRRR' whenever you are wrong. Don't worry, the 'GRRR' is in a playful manner to help encourage you to get the question right next time.

    Course highlights:

Through this course I was able to learn the polyatomic ions and majority of the periodic table of elements. Dr. Beth taught our class how to do conversions in a easy manner as well as teach us how to do work online. The online work is through a college website that students would be using if they went to UT Austin. I remember my favorite part of the course was doing conversions. Somehow I found it a little fun to be converting from one thing to another.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Please do not think that you can get everything done in a couple of minutes. Even if that is true you will be rushing through work and get several answers wrong. If you need help, it's better to ask Dr. Beth. She will be able to walk you through the process. You don't need to be afraid of her. She is there to help you learn.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course mostly because of the instructor. Dr. Beth is an amazing chemistry teacher who will help you understand what you are learning and when you are incorrect she'll give you a big playful 'GRRR'. A lot of students will say that the teacher will take time to help them understand but Dr. Beth really will help you understand the subject.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Beth's 'Grr', because it often encouraged me to try again and correct myself. I wanted to say the correct answer so it wouldn't happen again. Through this course I learned majority of the periodic table of elements and also learned the polyatomic ions with Dr. Beth.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Try to get things done ahead of time. Most of the work seems easy but it will stack up fast. If you believe you can do it in a short amount of time, please don't. You are more likely to make a bunch more mistakes. If need any help, DO NOT be afraid to ask Dr. Beth! She may look a little scary but she can really help you remember tricks to make things much easier.
