    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course if one wants to purse a career or has an interest in the medical field. General Biology is a foundation class that one builds medical knowledge upon!

    Course highlights:

I learned many things in general biology, however the thing that stood out to me the most was the genetics part of biology. I learned about Gregor Mendel and his contributions towards DNA, Punnett squares, genotypes, phenotypes, and so much more!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

General biology comes off as a very intimidating class, however that should not stop one from succeeding in the class. Be aware of the resources the college provides, such as free tutoring, and take advantage of them. A student must be very dedicated to this class and be prepared to spend much time studying for biology in order to be successful in this class.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the teacher is very nice and helpful. This does not mean that the course is easy in any way. Biology was one of the hardest classes i have ever taken.

    Course highlights:

I learned how hard you need to study and how to not waste time on unimportant details. I learned a lot about the internal workings of the human body.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study more than you ever have because this course will make you see where you can improve.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Though it was a hard and rigorous course, I really enjoyed the class. It was full of information and if you're looking to be in the science field, you HAVE to take it to graduate anyways. This course covers A LOT of material, so be ready to study hard.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was second semester when Dr. Ben Thornton was teaching. Though he can be very intimidating, he is very nice and a GREAT teacher. I learned a lot from him and continue to take his classes. My favorite parts were labs and the chapters on nature and animals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to do well in this class, you need to study, and study hard. It covers a vast amount of different information and in order to do well on tests, you need to spend a couple hours each day for at least a week getting acquainted with the information. Also, the final is cumulative for both semesters, but don't sweat it. I studied for over a month, took the test, thought I had failed because it was so hard, but I ended up getting a B+. Not too shabby. I honestly think I could've not studied for it and done just as well.
