Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Gourley's Psych 150 (General Psychology) is one of the best classes I've ever had. She is tough, but care's about her students. She is one of two Team Based Learning (TBL) instructors.

    Course highlights:

Her class taught me more than just the information to pass a test, I learned to work and rely on others, respect their opinions and knowledge, to be assertive and confident in my own understanding, etc. Her class is more than just passing a final exam and leaving, she teaches you career skills, how to be ethical, etc. She's a wonderful instructor.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be open minded, willing to work with people that are different than you are. You don't have to agree on personal things, but ready to be a constructive unit. Don't just hear what's being said, listen and learn. Also, be ok with not knowing everything, willing to ask questions. Do the work in class, and the reading assigned outside of class, you'll be fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She's a great teacher who really cares about what she teach. Reading assignments arent that hard and if you pay attention at least half the time it shouldnt be hard. Also she offers 10 points of extra credit so if you have an 80 at the end do a few essays and boom you got yourself an A in psychology.

    Course highlights:

This course is broken up by different sections of psychology (effects of drugs, wants and needs, brain disorders) and along the way you learn about all the staples of psychology like B.F. Skinner, Freud, and Wundt. It's also set up in a way that isn't boring and monotonous. Average people shocking others to death? What is the reason behind a "freudian slip"? Is psychology real science or just guess work? You actually learn a lot and while this may sound like I'm sponsored to say this (I'm not) it's actually rather enjoyable. (hell of a lot better than sitting in your room all day writing 20 page essays on the effects of the declining market on GDP)

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Use the study guides and watch the extra "Discovering Psychology" videos, they're kind of hidden and not assigned but when that final comes around you'll be glad you watched them.
