    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would love to recommend this class because it has helped me drastically with my understanding and comprehension of poetry and literature. Although it is difficult it has broadened my literary horizon and opened me to a world of poetry I find to be very intriguing.

    Course highlights:

I absolutely loved reading Gilgamesh. I am fascinated by ancient literature and stories and it was a great Segway in to poetry from novels. I learned about rhyme scheme and different literary devices that have helped me in my poetry.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell the student to use their study tools to help them with the readings and poetry. As long as it is ok with the teacher and you did the work, the internet can be a very useful tool in helping to understand the material.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a very positive way to discover and cultivate my understanding of literature and poetry. Throughout the course the teacher strongly influenced a deep understanding of more then just the words, but the meaning in everything we read.

    Course highlights:

I thoroughly enjoyed the poetry unit in this course. After looking at Shakespeare, Anglo-saxen poetry, and the romantics I gained an appreciation for the art of poetry and writing behind it. I learned how the form of a poem can attribute to the over all meaning and tone of a poem.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

When considering an AP Literature course, remember that there is a lot of writing and reading involved. It is an Advanced Placement course so it is a college level class which will be more of a challenge.
