    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The class is easy to do well in but moves in a fast pace. It always feels like you're learning something new, and the problem sets are challenging and rewarding. Much of the class is participation based making it a low stress environment that really allows learning to come naturally and be fun.

    Course highlights:

This course really makes you feel like you're have a basic to intermediate proficiency at coding in Python, which is extremely rewarding and useful. In addition to learning python, CS 111 does a fantastic job at demonstrating the basic principles of many different aspects of computer science from looking at computers at the hardware level, to learning assembly language, to image processing, and even AIs (artificial intelligence)!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you pay attention and understand the problem sets and lectures, you really don't need to study very hard for the exams, since they're extremely easy. That being said, the problem sets are quite challenging at times, so you should start them WELL ahead of the due date.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely reccomend it to everyone in the College of Arts and Sciences. Regardless of whether or not you are interested in computer science it is a gamechanger in terms of approaching problems and finding solutions to them.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was the programming. I have rarely programmed prior to this class and it made me feel great. Programming feels like creating art to solve practical problems. Not only was plenty of thought involved but also an equal amount of creativity.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely do it. Although there is a simpler course, CS101, I recommend this one if you are willing to put the work in to grow.
