Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is actually for the Ceramics I class, but for some reason it won't let me choose that as an option. I also don't remember my professor's name, mostly because we had 3 different ones over the course of the semester. This class was an excellent introduction to ceramic as a medium and sculpture as a method.

    Course highlights:

This class taught about the basics of clay as a medium: the terms for using it, the different ways to sculpt with it, how to throw on a wheel, etc. We also learned how to use different types of glaze for different projects. It was a great course for introducing new-comers to ceramic.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This class required a lot more out of class time than I anticipated. Each project had several steps: creating, letting it dry, getting it fired, glazing, and firing it again. Normally, we were given a week or two of class time to work on it, which was often enough to complete the first step. Then we started the next project. This meant that near the end of the semester, you could have several projects being worked on at once. I did not manage my time well and fell behind by the end of the semester. I did catch up in time for everything to be turned in, right at the end, but it was very stressful.
