    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course simply because Professor Corpora is so passionate about teaching law as well as the history and reasons of why certain laws are in place. He also requires participation, therefore, you get more out of the class. He is consistently available for questions, tutoring, and any other resource that you might need.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of learning this course was the section on Constitutional Law. With our ever changing political environment, this document has remained virtually unchanged throughout our history. There have been amendments, yes, but the foresight of our founding fathers is stunningly remarkable. This chapter is especially interesting because of the recent political events in our country. Is it within the constitutional rights for POTUS (President of the United States) to create and enforce a travel ban? What are the impacts of SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States)? I learned the difference between questions of law and questions of fact. I learned that judges are the deciders of low level cases while justices are at the appellate level and above. Is it the right of a judge to decide the meaning of the law? The surprising answer is no because the judge can only decide the facts of a case. It is up to the appellate court justices to decide the meaning of a law. When it comes to the meaning of the constitution, SCOTUS takes charge. What makes questions of The Constitution so amazing is that through The Federalist Papers we can know EXACTLY what our founding fathers intended while writing The Constitution.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for students is to study hard and follow a set of simple rules. There are but two rules for you to follow. Rule number 1: Read the book. Rule number 2: Remember rule number 1.
