    Pretty easy, overall.

Though there are a lot of essays involved, it is very easy to see improvement within the semester. The professor is fantastic, and helps students along the way, catering to their specific needs in the class.

Students are allowed to choose the subject of their essays based on the prompts, and can write about nearly anything. This course helps with analysis, and truly allows you to expand your researching skills as well.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you enjoy writing and would like to improve, take this course. Work along side the professor, as she will truly help you with any difficulties you are having with the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Jenkins challenged my way of thinking in such a way that never left me feeling ignorant, but instead more curious and fascinated with our coursework. His humor, encouragement, and easy-going nature lay the groundwork for the rest of my education, and successful career.

    Course highlights:

He really pushed us to think outside the box and grapple with very difficult theories and concepts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Participate in the class discussions and don't be afraid to go to office hours.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anybody looking to gain a stronger sense of confidence in their opinion and the knowledge to hold educated conversations and debates. This class really taught me how to think critically, as the name of the class implies, and to think outside of the box in situations that seemed very black-and-white if you will.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part about this class was being able to make connections to things that seemed perceivably unrelated. I felt the confidence in my voice increase, and the strength to formulate my own opinions and stick to them. This class taught you that it is okay to have an opinion other than those around you, as long as you have the required evidence to make it a logical argument. I learned firsthand the power of words, through the examination of the past as well as the personal experience of conversations in class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest taking the time to devote to your writing. Taking breaks is critical to ensure the end product is neat, legible and presentable. Know that the way you turn in your assignments is a display of you as an individual, so take pride in your work. You are putting your name on the documents you turn in so make sure they accurately reflect you.
