    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course helped me to understand how to connect currently problems to the past and how to think critically. Dr. West also has us understand the importance of applying these skills in our writing when we completed our papers. He challenged the students to push beyond what they know and understand while keeping an open mind.

    Course highlights:

In this course, the students were encouraged to work together to better understand all perspectives and to foster an academically charged environment.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Challenge yourselves in this class to work on your writing and critical thinking skills. This class will ultimately prepare you for all the coming classes you have regardless of your major.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

History to me had always been learning about what happened in the past, memorizing names and dates, and then taking multiple choice tests. However, this course is much more different as we dig deep into history and truly learn about the different aspects that created our world today.

    Course highlights:

Instead of tests, we did essays in which we would write about certain topics regarding history. Although challenging, it was very enlightening as i feel I learned a lot more than when I would memorize things just for exams.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard and study the topics for the essays. Making yourself an outline and jotting down key facts all truly help you succeed.
