Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I enjoyed taking this course however there is a lot of memorization so be prepared to put in some effort. I really enjoyed the labs that we did worked with many different types of microorganisms. Mostly to prepare for tests you have to study on your own since most of the information is online.

    Course highlights:

I really liked working with microorganisms in lab, however all the details you need to know about these organisms are kind of a pain. I did learn a lot about the different organisms but I probably forgot about most of them so yeah...

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just keep up with the modules and start memorizing the materials early if you want to do well in the class. Make sure you organize your notebook well and take down all the information in lab too coz they will be tested on.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Chess is far and away the best teacher that I've ever had. The genuine care he has for his students and his excitement for the subject make every day an absolute delight to be in class.

    Course highlights:

You might not realize until taking a microbiology class how much of our life is influenced by teeny-tiny bacteria. They play a role in food, water, disease, medicine, and much more! Every chapter of the textbook left me in awe of all the amazing things that bacteria are capable of.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Reading the textbook and listening to lecture will get you far, but if you want to ace this class you will need to put down a serious chunk of time. Flash cards are the most helpful, especially when learning all the specific bacteria.
