    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I am not a very talkative person, when it comes to speeches or large audiences. I let my writings and words speak for themselves. However, in the one month that I took Barry Fike's COM 180 course, I could see my confidence rise and my discomfort dissipate. I left his class every day excited for the next day.

    Course highlights:

Listening to everyone else's speeches helped me get to know each person in the class. By the end of the summer term, we felt like a family. Professor Fike helped us understand the different types of speeches, like an After Dinner Speech or an Introduction Speech, with really great video examples which were easy to apply to our daily lives.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is tough, but it is so worth it!!
