    I liked the online format of the homework and quizzes/tests.

    I enjoy religion classes so the subject matter was fine for me.

    Dr. Carr is knowledgeable and approaches the bible as a theologian, a historian, and a philosopher. I grew so much in this course and I truly enjoyed his instruction.

    Practical application of the bible as a historical document

    Course Overview:

    Even if you are not a religious person, REL 101 is an excellent course to take. It gives you so much insight into the Christian faith and the compilation of the Old Testament of the Bible.

    Course highlights:

    I came to understand how the Old Testament came to be. You see, the Old Testament was not all written by one person in one setting. It was written by God through people at different times and places. REL 101 helps you understand how all these different writings came together to form what we now know as the Old Testament/

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

    Don't be afraid to ask questions or go into office hours. Dr. Heard is a very kind and caring Professor who wants to help you succeed in his class any way he can. He is also more than willingly to discuss any personal struggles with faith or religion you are having.
