    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is informative, but it focuses a lot on the professor's own personal interpretations of the Old Testament. More outside materials and interpretations would have been better.

    Course highlights:

The best part of the class was the last week when we had a rabbi as a guest speaker; he was super informative and funny.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Class attendance is crucial. You won't be formally penalized, but you also won't be able to find any of the materials necessary for exams online. The class is mostly his personal interpretations of the Old Testament, and he doesn't post power point presentation slides online.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's not too hard, but make sure to take detailed notes of the lecture.

    Course highlights:

At the end of the course he had a rabbi come in and speak; his lecture was really interesting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take detailed notes-- everything you need to know for the exam is in the lectures.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor would go off on long tangents that would waste class time. The class had around 250 students, so it was very impersonal. Lastly, the professor assigned articles to read and be tested on that were uninteresting and had little to do with the course.

    Course highlights:

I thought it was very interesting to learn about the bible and its stories through a historical background.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all of the material, even all the bible verses. And sit in the front of the lecture hall. It can be very difficult and distracting to sit in the middle or the back of a class that large.
