Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class becuase the teacher is thorough in her lessons and is very adamant about learning how to use new and professional equipment as well as looking through old and new films. From this class I learned a lot about framing and timing, as well as composition of a film and video.

    Course highlights:

I have gained the knowledge of cinematics and form through the prospect of time. I have learned how to film an engaging video and have been forced out of my comfort zone.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be able to fit the parameters of the projects as well as engaged in the discussions and critiques.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is amazing, and introduces you to a lot of different mediums as far as creation goes. We have worked with audio, photography, videos, and are going to work with web design later in the semester. As a designer this class is a must, you will grow through the exploration of new mediums and learn to adapt when a medium isn't your preferred style.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to manipulate sound and really take in the world around me. Learning to piece together audio files, opened me up to a whole new side of art, the sonic landscape. Something that in the past I shied away from because it intimated me. The highlight of this course was facing that fear and learning that I can work with audio successfully.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember that this course is about trying new things, you are not going to be amazing at everything. As cheesy as this sounds, this class is about doing your best and learning how to work artistically. You will mess up, but that is why you have an instructor. To help you when you fall.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is by far my favorite. This is my first semester of my first year in college and this class has already taught me so much. We have worked with audio, photography, and sketching, and will be working with video and web design in the future. I recommend this class to every designer not matter your classification because it will teach you a great deal about how to use adobe creative cloud, and how to create constantly and grow as an artist.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the discussions and the and guest speakers. Rory brings in amazing speakers such as Daniel Arnold the Instagram photographer signed by Vogue and due to these discussions, as students we make professional connections and learn a great deal. I have learned how to approach photography in an active and artistic way, and know that I will learn more throughout the rest of the semester.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just know that you are going to spend a lot of time on your projects, it's great work as an artist, but it is time consuming. Ultimately its worth it though, you learn about how to use the adobe programs which is a huge asset and you learn how to operate with a dead line. Which is something we are all going to have to do in our careers. This course will prepare you for your future as an artist and designer.
