    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

American Civilization teaches you how to write an analytical essay, how to read educational books, and how to write essays in a timed setting. I would recommend this class because all of these skills help with taking the ACT with writing and it will help you in college.

    Course highlights:

I have learned how to write a good analytical essay about an academic book. I have also learned how to write a short essay with a minimum amount of 9 facts in a short time period.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate the work till the night before, especially the essays. Ask students who have taken the class before how to write the essays. Have more facts than you need on your notecard for the tests.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because it gives students a detailed look into the history of our great nation. This class does not have the typical approach to most history classes because not only did it discuss the wars, the economy, and the culture, but the impact these things and many others, had on America.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the class discussions. From these discussions, I was able to learn many things from not only my teachers knowledge, but from some of the thoughts my fellow classmates had as well. These discussions were also helpful because they prepared us for a college classroom environment where participation is expected and necessary.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to never procrastinate the work required for this class. A big tip that I have would be reading the books required for writing the papers in plenty of time prior to writing your paper. I would also recommend that as you read the books, highlight lines and make notes in the book which makes writing your paper much easier.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it makes learning about history enjoyable and helps me to think critically about current events based on what has happened in the past.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed learning about the lesser talked about aspects of history like quasi-free slaves.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to pay attention in class and be detail-orientated
