Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

bout what you wish you knew before taking the course to give the best advice There course covered there aspect of physical geography which includes Climatology, Geomorphology and Biogeography. It was very interesting course for which I had much knowledge in solar energy distribution, the factors that affect the amount of solar energy that reaches the surface, the structure and composition of the atmosphere, temperature and pressure distribution, air masses, Rainfall, Clouds types, sea erosion and floods, Some few coastal features and their formation and some of the factors that shape the earth surface. We were also introduced to some few things in biogeography which included; the brunch of biogeography which are phytogeography and zoo geography.

    Course highlights:

I learnt solar energy distribution, the factors that affect the amount of solar energy that reaches the surface and some of these factors are; first the angle of incidence ray on the surface, second is the rotation of the earth, and the transparency of the atmosphere. I also learn about the structure and composition of the atmosphere. Here I learn that the atmosphere is structured based on temperature distribution in the atmosphere and first layer is the troposphere which is the layer extending from the earth surface to about 50km high. In the troposphere temperature decreases with height and all the elements of weather are found here. The second layer in the structure is the stratosphere in which temperature increases with height. The stratosphere is separated from the troposphere by the tropopause. Third layer is the mesosphere and the thermosphere will follow. I also learn about temperature and pressure distribution, air masses, Rainfall, Clouds types, sea erosion and floods, Some few coastal features and their formation and some of the factors that shape the earth surface. We were also introduced to some few things in bio-geography which included; the brunch of bio-geography which are photography and zoo-geography

    Advice for students:

I therefore advice students who intend to read this course to take their lectures serious and also ask questions to clear their minds on the issues that will be raised by the lecturer. They need to read from other materials recommended to them by the lecturer. They should also form study groups to discuss some of the issues. They should also do their assignment and take part in the quizzes. They should use the internet to access some of the topics by making use of lectures on some of the issues on YouTube. Thank you.
