    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because personally, I learned a lot from it. I cannot give it a full 5 stars, because the work load is extremely difficult, so it is not for everyone. However, if you are dedicated and willing to learn, it is a wonderful learning experience.

    Course highlights:

US history is a pretty broad category, but if I were to narrow down what I learned to a few details they would be these. I learned that the US has had a lot of difficulties through the years both politically and in other ways. The topic of slavery and civil rights was very interesting to me, as well as understanding the political systems the US has gone through.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You must be self-motivated and dedicated in order to succeed in this class. There is a lot of reading required and a few large assessments which require extended preparation. However, if you stay on top of the reading and get assignments done early so as to eliminate stress, the class is quite interesting and engaging.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is definitely worth taking. It prepares you well for the AP exam by giving lots of practice questions, lots of practice essays, and lots of good feedback to help you improve. The teacher can go off topic sometimes because maybe he knows too much about history, but ultimately, if you follow the teacher's advice, you'll feel well-prepared when the exam day comes.

    Course highlights:

You really get to learn how to deal with the questions and FRQ's, so you feel confident with what's coming when the exam actually comes. Mr. Mailand is also nice in that he gives you extra credit assignments if you need them so that you can boost up your grade. He has a great sense of humor, too.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

One thing that you have to do yourself is continue to study the content throughout the year. Cramming the last week or so does not work, so if that's what you do, it's your bad.
