Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Ma was a fantastic teacher and taught calculus in such a way that everyone understood. He made math fun and his only goal was to see his students succeed. He held extra study sessions outside of class where everyone can come in and ask him questions and work problems on the board and his door was always open.

    Course highlights:

I had never taken Calculus before and I loved the way he explained things. Reading about the concepts in the textbook confused me, but he teaches in a way that he knows his students will understand.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do the homework. It's only suggested and he doesn't grade or collect it, but there is no way you'll pass the class if you don't practice the concepts. Work through the problems and then ask your questions next class. Go to the study sessions he holds and don't miss class. He is very understanding and flexible if he knows you're putting in the work for the course. Your grade is determined only on his exams, which are free-response and fairly difficult, but he is willing to give you extra credit or drop your lowest exam if he knows you're doing your part. I never missed a class and he dropped my lowest test score.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because the teacher goes at a slow pace and explains it in an easy to understand way.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is when he would go over all the questions of the quiz and exams.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework. Do not do it all in one night.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is usually a required class. But coming into Calculus, there are a lot of topics to cover. That means staying on top of your studies and coming to class to do well.

    Course highlights:

Professor is really organized and so are his notes. He knows what he is teaching and he is fair to every student. He gave the class chances to retake the exam if we did not do well.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I should have spent more time in this class. Do well on your first exam. The professor welcomes questions so I encourage students to ask him for help and go to office hours. It's all about discipline and time management. It is Calculus so yes it is going to be hard but if you work hard you will do well.
