Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor for the course has an obvious passion and interest for his subject! You really get to know your classmates as you are constantly group writing or peer editing for each other. It sharpened my writing skills as you are given unique writing prompts and great feedback from the class and professor. The atmosphere was also really welcoming and creative!

    Course highlights:

I have definitely gained courage with sharing my writing with others. When you have to share what you've written with a small group every two weeks, you lose your anxiety a little bit each time. I also got a good idea of what great writing requires. It needs far more attention to detail than I originally thought!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to throw themselves in the work! It is difficult coming up with new ideas constantly and I must admit my creative juices were dried out by the end. But being able to create something and having an audience that is not only interested but invested in your success is really uplifting.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course has been a huge start for me. I learned different methods that writers use like the heart, head, and gut methods. I really got close with other students and we worked together so well. It really gives you the chance to learn off of each other. This course focused on practice too. We would complete lots of creative prompts that were designed to bring out creativity.

    Course highlights:

I learned more about showing versus telling. This course actually helped shift my focus from writing all these details to just saying what needs to be said. I loved how content was the main focus and how the professor showed us how to evaluate characters.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This involves a good bit of writing so you either need to really love it or really want to get better at it. You also have to have pride in your work because this class requires you to read in front of the class while others critique you. It really helps if you can take criticism well.
