    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Linda Johnson was my professor for Psy 1 and also teaches relaxation and meditation. Shwe is a very loving and kind teacher. I would take more courses taught by her if available. There was microscopic stress in the course, and she offered opportunities for extra credit along with some fun projects. In the course, we covered a basic introduction to psychology and became familiar with the theorist who paved the way for Psychology today.

    Course highlights:

Coming to an understanding of how psychology works and how much it is connected was enlightening. We learned about the stages of development from a lifespan view, temperament of children during development, and used theories developed by major psychological figures to understand the process of development and body.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be willing to raise your hand, ask questions, give examples, and always wait at your desk with paper and pen when she walks in; it will earn you extra credit to be ready. The textbook has great information, but Linda will also give you resources through the canvas in the for of videos, links to articles, and other tidbits.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was the first course in psychology that I had taken and it could not have captured my interest more. Hovsepian is a wonderful professor that is highly experienced and knowledgeable in the coursework he teaches. This is an Introduction to Psychology class.

    Course highlights:

I still have all my notes from this class because they are highly organized by Hovsepian, and I like to look back on them for simple information now that I am furthering my studies in psychology. I really enjoyed learning about all aspects of psychology, from the simple functions of the brain, to disorders, and even how people can train their mind.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read your book ahead of time! Hovsepian likes to test the class with questions to see if they have read the night before like he asked. You will be highly favored if you are able to answer his questions. Also, get out of your comfort zone and participate in class discussion.
