    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

An amazing teacher! I completely hated learning about history before taking his class. I dreaded the fact that I had to take a history class. He got me exited to learn about history. He doesn't just talk the talk he is a person who will help to create history.

    Course highlights:

This class focuses on the Civil War to present. He presents the information as paradigms. Martin focuses on people learning HOW to learn about past events, not just the event. Blew my mind. This leaves room for discussion and critical thinking, not just memorization.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep and open mind and TAKE NOTES! Let your voice be heard in this class, we don't often have an oportunity in a classroom setting to engage like we did in this class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you take this course, be prepared to do a lot of work, but that work can give knowledge in ways you never thought possible.

    Course highlights:

I learned how aspects of history are often more connected then we like to think, and most historical events are often an effect of an earlier cause.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest to listen to the professor when she states good ways to study for her class, because not studying in this class will get you nowhere.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this particular teacher because though he teaches you very valuable life and college lessons, he completely misses the point on teaching History. He teaches philosophy at a graduate understanding to undergrad community college students trying to learn History.

    Course highlights:

As I have not finished this course yet, I cannot comment on highlights of the course or what I have learned in general.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take diligent notes, both on material and what professor Smith is saying, as his personal views and opinions show to be more important than that of the information you learn from the material.
