    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I learned an incredible amount of information in this course. The subject material can be difficult but if you dedicate yourself to the course material and work hard you will be successful.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how our brain functions. How different parts of the brain are involved in functions of the brain. You learn the structures of the brain and identify them during lab practicals where you get to dissect brains. You learn about sensation, perception, sight, hearing, taste, touch, cognition, and every other wonderful thing our brain can do.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to spend a lot of time studying. Make a lot of flash cards, especially for the lab practicals and for identifying which structures perform which function.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was so interesting to learn how brains work and all the different pieces and functions that make up the human brain!

    Course highlights:

I learned about the different brain structures in the brain as well as how they work, what they do, and what happens with abnormalities.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, read the book, and take handwritten notes. There have been studies that show when you physically write it out your brain retains the information better!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course content was fascinating, especially if you are pursuing an education in psychology. It is one thing to learn about human behavior, and it is a whole other world to study the brain functions behind this behavior. Professor Verma was passionate about the subject and provided variety in her teaching style.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course for me was realizing that an action that seems so ordinary and simple, such as vision, is actually a complex system. The videos that Professor Verma provided helped to visualize and understand the processes. Not to mention, they made you think!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to read! There is a lot of information to be presented in this course, it certainly helps to be interested in the material. Speak your mind and think outside of the box. Professor Verma loves for students to engage in discussion. It's important to bring something new or unique to these discussions, though. Do some background research if necessary.
