    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I wouldn't recommend this class because I was not able to focus that much. There were distractions from other people, and the teacher was not that helpful. I struggled on homework most of all, which was very long readings difficult to comprehend.

    Course highlights:

I read the Great Gatsby, The Things They Carried, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, to name a few. We would listen to the audio tape of these books as a class a few times a week, which made it difficult to follow along, especially since we read for forty five minutes, and with difficult sentences to interpret.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise to read books over the summer in preparation. Also, I would test yourself on characters, themes, and plots of the stories you will read.Note cards are always beneficial for memorizing.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I strongly recommend this course because it is very enlightening and captivating. The content is fascinating and the Romantics unit really uncovers the deepest roots of literature.

    Course highlights:

I gained more insight and developed a better skill for uncovering deeper meanings within my literature. I learned how to thoroughly annotate my readings in order to better understand them and I also discovered more about my country's history.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

No matter what, always annotate! Not only will you score better on your annotation grade, but class seminars will be much more efficient. Take the readings in chunks and DO NOT try and read it all the night before they are due.
