    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

LOVE this course! I took UWP as a major requirement and was DREADING it because I come from the world of math and sciences and can hardly ever express myself with ease. This course changed all that. My favorite professors at UC Davis have been lecturers (versus tenure researchers). IMO, they connect with their students on a much deeper level and are more engaged in their participation. Professor Powers was kind, insightful, and very helpful in and outside of the classroom. Her homework assignments were RELEVANT and enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

Group work! The final project is a collaborative effort which, historically, always go terribly. This course was different! While you worked with others, your grade wasn't severely impacted by a member who didn't pull their weight. It is graded fairly

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay engaged in the course. If you just show up and blend in the background, you'll be so bored.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I am currently enrolled in Dr. Azevedo's UWP104A class. This class is extremely helpful as graduating students start to look for jobs. We learn about cover letters, resumes, and how to write professionally in the business world. Not only is this class helpful, Dr. Azevedo provides exceptional knowledge and tips when writing. She always has a positive attitude during class, which makes me look forward to coming every Monday and Wednesday! I definitely recommend taking this class with her. She's awesome!

    Course highlights:

Learning about professional business writing has been the highlight for me. I didn't realize the importance of each word and sentence you structure had an affect of its overall outcome.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Any student who is applying to internships, jobs, etc. should take this course! It is very helpful because you don't realize the detail that goes into each resume or cover letter. Every little detail matters and this class helps you reach your full potential in that aspect.
