    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Animal biochemistry was one of my favorite classes at UC Davis, even if it was one of the most challenging classes I've ever taken. I appreciated the integration of biology and chemistry within the human body, understanding what happens when we eat bread (carbohydrate) and tracking it through the body as it is digested, absorbed, and used for energy but the body.

    Course highlights:

Truly understanding the interactions and the intricacies of biochemistry in applicable terms.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Practice. It it's still taught the same, I had to practice writing out all the reactions and chemical structures.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although this course is tough, Dr. Calvert is awesome and makes it easy to approach him with questions.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were applying it to everyday situations. Learning about how glucose is broken down from food or produced by the body and used as energy is essential in any medical field.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Use concept maps and flow charts. Super helpful to have a whiteboard to draw on.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Not as bad as the people below make him out to be....

    Course highlights:

I didn't like him at first but started to warm up to him during the quarter.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Not a great professor, but he explains things well enough to be able to understand it.
