Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course provided so much information about lost histories for the Chicanx community. It felt like we learning a whole new history forgotten in time. The professor taught the class in a very clear and elegant manner. This course was not just about siting down and writing down things, but about applying critical thinking to every idea we were presented with, challenged us to think outside the box and communicate with one another.

    Course highlights:

A definite highlight from the course was reteaching history, contrasting from elementary to high school when we are taught there is ONLY ONE true history. Although each time we met as a class there was new information being discussed is was never boring. We learned that although many of us come from different backgrounds, we are not too different if we give each other the chance to talk to one another.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class with an open mind. This class offered a whole new view into "American" history but you will not get to experience it if you go into it with a certain bias or conservative view about history. Do not leave essays or projects to the last minute because they are not too hard unless you make them, by leaving them until the last minute.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This was a great introductory course that included everything from history of Chicanos/ Latinos to important political movements, music, and literature.

    Course highlights:

One of the main highlights of the course was learning about the political movements that brought about social change for future generations.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read over the lectures after attending class, and read the literature associated with the class, it is really interesting and will definitely help you in drawing examples for the exams.
