Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Menke is a very caring teacher and would work hard to help you to succeed in the class. The way he approaches chemistry in his exclamation involves lots of discussion making things easy to understand since any confusion would be cleared up by classmates. I took the honors version of the course thus creating a smaller class size allowing this to be possible. Also this version of the course touch upon a programming program called Mathematica that gave an intro into programming and how it would be applied to chemistry.

    Course highlights:

The course covered Quantum Mechanics in terms of chemistry, atom structure and how they bond, the structure of the 4 states of matter, thermodynamics, and enthalpy. The course basically gives a general analysis on atoms and how they interact in different ways.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Memorizing basic laws and theories are essential to the class. Knowing them will allow to deal with any problem addressed in the class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend you taking General Chemistry with Mark because he really tries his best for each student to succeed while taking this course. The class is also curved for the lab and unlike the other Chemistry teacher he does not make you do homework for the class.

    Course highlights:

This class is very hard but trying your best really does help. A highlight from this course would have to be my TA for the class he was very helpful during discussion and lab. He also always tried his best to make sure that each student gained as many points possible for the labs and quizzes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for students considering this course is to make sure you read the book. The book is a vital part of this class. Also go to lecture because it can be helpful and sometimes there are pop quizzes during lecture and not in discussion.
