Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you are truly passionate about language, and more specifically the spoken aspect of it, then this course is absolutely for you. You learn the finer intricacies of language that you would never know from only studying the written word.

    Course highlights:

I learned that language is so much more complicated than we could ever imagine. The spoken aspect of language is something we don't think much about because it comes naturally to us, but studying linguistics takes you into the mind of a speaker's mental grammar. Speech contains info that the written word never could, like intonation and certain stresses.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that you should only take this course if it is a requirement or you really have a passion for language and want to learn about the finer intricacies of the spoken aspect of it. The material isn't always the most exciting, but it is extremely informative.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you're an English major, this class is an absolute must to take. It gives you a greater understanding of linguistics and how languages work. If you want to master language, this class is a great starting point.

    Course highlights:

I'd say the biggest highlight was understanding how language works on a deeper level, especially the spoken aspect of it obviously. Speech contains info about a language that writing doesn't, such as intonation. It takes you inside the mind of a speaker's mental grammar.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you're going to take this course, make sure that linguistics is truly something that interests you, because there is a lot of information given and sometimes it isn't always the most exciting stuff to read about. If language is something you're passionate about though, your brain will be fully entertained and put to the test.

Your writing probably wasn't good enough even though your high school teachers spoiled you into thinking so.

    Course highlights:

Very Clear and Percise about what she is looking for in Assignments

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Excellent Teacher! Expects a lot from her students, but helps them achieve it.
