Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Sometimes this class might be required for your major so there really is no getting around it! If you take it, Professor Stewart is a fine teacher, yet she does more conceptual questions to make sure you really understand it! She goes beyond the problems & might even throw in some vocab. I would really only recommend this course with said professor if you are committed to studying more than what you just learn in class.

    Course highlights:

Office hours in this course were very helpful! Supplemental instructors were key to passing too. You learn more chemistry that will prepare you for your upper-level chemistry classes (such as organic) but if you took high school chemistry, some most should be a review. A plus to this course is the labs were a hands-on way to understand what was happening in class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you take the online homework seriously and don't just type the questions into google hoping to find the answer! Work them out and don't wait until the last minute. The online homework is designed to help give you extra study material and more practice since lecture is just note taking and recitation happens once a week. Also take advantage of SI and use your (expensive!!!) book for help. Don't pick early lecture if you are considering skipping because this course is not one to skip! Also do your recitation homework as Professor Stewart makes is mandatory for you to present the problem to your classmates up to 3 times!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's definitely a course you need if you are pre-med. Despite the mistakes I made, it's a very good foundation for the upcoming chemistry courses in the future. I'm glad I went through it.

    Course highlights:

It's a nice way to test which study method works best for you! I learned a lot of study methods and was able to test out with works best for me so that I would be able to use this trick in the future.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Put a lot of work into this! It may be easy for some students but on the safe side, study and put time to this course because you will need it again.
