    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

That is a business core class, so there is no way around it. This class is exclusively thought by Dr. Jasso, so there is no way around him. This class is heavy on writing and reading but the learning experience is pleasant. Everybody should be able to pass, I think most people get anything from B- to B+ Good luck.

    Course highlights:

You have to pick a company and research on it. So by the end of the quarter, you will know a lot about your chosen company.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't write and do your readings last minute. Be proactive

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Although this class is a core business class and business majors are required to take it, I found this class to be very informative. It gives a great overview of all the different factors that go into a marketing plan and how consumers react to different ways product or services are presented to them.

    Course highlights:

The class focused greatly on consumer behavior. Marketing is based on how consumers will react to different things. I learned how to create a simple marketing plan, as well as how to brand a product and promote it. The books that is required in this course was very interesting in that it gave a different perspective of how a product is presented or named greatly affects how successful or unsuccessful it is.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

When writing any papers for this class, including midterms, be as descriptive as possible and give as many examples as time permits. The TAs grade based on a rubric to make it more objective, so read the rubric and fulfill each requirement.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Jasso is a great professor and is very knowledgeable in all the subjects of business that he teaches. This course is pre-req for the rest of the marketing classes at UCR, so if you are looking to expand your knowledge in marketing, start with this course.

    Course highlights:

Hilights definitely included Jasso's sense of humor throughout his lectures and I learned the very basics of marketing and how it applies to companies and their use of marketing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely go to office hours and show Jasso that you care to learn more about this subject and have a passion to do more than just the bare mininum of the course. This is the best way to get an A and not just the B+ that he gives to the majority of students.
