    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course was very interesting. It helped my broaden my knowledge of creative writing, and explore the creative side that I had long kept to myself. It helped me learn more about myself, and also helped my writing.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of aspects of English writing that I did not know were a thing, and Professor Long was very helpful in guiding us through our assignments, and the TAs were very helpful as well. I really enjoyed the Powerwrites that we did during class and at home, as it really helped to explore parts of me that I did not know I could think of.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course! You won't regret it. Professor Long is very nice and helpful and guides you through everything you need to get an A in the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course even if you don't consider yourself a writer or enjoy writing. Personally, I hated writing especially when it came to writing long academic papers but this class is different. Yes, it requires a great amount of writing but it’s liberating, fun and creative! Overall the difficulty of the class was average it also depends on which TA you have because each one is different.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was learning how to express myself through writing. We had a variety of assignments ranging from simply correcting or changing someone else’s writing or creating our own poems. I learned how to write poetry and the importance of word choice when writing. I feel through taking this course I grew as a person because for our midterm and final we have to do something called a 56 project. A 56 project is where we have to write our own story it can be anything whether it’s funny or depressing. Most students take the depressing option but by doing so we can express our feelings and even get things off our chest.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My main and most important piece of advice if you plan on taking this course is do not procrastinate! We have weekly assignments always due Sunday by 10pm and most of time I’d start my assignment that same day, big mistake. Sometimes it is possible but a lot of time it’s more than one assignment usually three and they are very time consuming. So just make sure to use your time wisely besides that you should love the class!
