    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Patch is a very knowledgeable and fun professor. His lectures are like stories. He does not have power points, so you have to go to lecture and listen to him, but he does have outlines. He makes history fun, but he is not an easy teacher. He has a lot of reading but as long as you do the readings, it'll be fine.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about imperialism and why some countries became poor by the 19th century. I didn't really like history that much before this class, but after taking Dr. Patch's class, I have come to enjoy it a little more.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings and go to the lectures. It's the only way to pass and keep up with Dr. Patch.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was relatively easy to be successful in. The material wasn't difficult to understand, and Professor Patch was a huge help every time I went to his office hours. Plus, he's a funny guy and tries to make the material as understandable as possible.

    Course highlights:

This course covered a lot of material, but ultimately aided in my comprehension of history in Europe, Latin America, and Asia as a whole. I personally appreciated the connections the professor highlighted between western ideals and the way colonialism/imperialism worked.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to discussion and talk to your TA whenever you can. Professor Patch gives his teaching assistants specific instructions about what'll be on the midterm and final, so they're your best resource. If your TA isn't helpful for some reason, go to office hours. Professor Patch was always willing to answer questions about the material, whether it was in class or during office hours.
