    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Canalizo has a very clear passion for the material. The TA's also are very knowledgeable and willing to explain concepts until the entire group understands. Weekly quizzes are given which also help with comprehension. Canalizo makes her class very interesting by including live demonstrations for understanding. She is also a very sweet and caring professor who offers a lot of help and guidance outside of the classroom if needed.

    Course highlights:

The Violent Universe goes over violent phenomena in the universe. Topics include but aren't limited to black holes, supernovae, coronal mass ejections, etc. You also will learn the different parts of the universe, the layers to our Sun, and the shape of our ever-expanding universe. Personally, I constantly wonder what is really out there and how our universe functions. Canalizo gives interesting perspectives to how space can be violent and cool.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is very interesting which makes the topics easy to grasp. Make sure you show up and take notes. They really come in handy during discussions. Without them, you won't know what questions to ask and you may not be able to access certain information during exams. Do not take Canalizo's kindess for weakness. Put in effort and learn. She enjoys teaching and respects your time as a student so respect her and her efforts as well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an amazing course and the professor is just as amazing. The subject of the universe is already interesting, but Professor Canalizo is very enthusiastic towards the class and encourages students to participate in class and projects outside of class.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the class was just going to the class (I've never missed this class because it was that good!) What I have taken from this class was mostly about the big bang and how the universe came out of it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to every lecture and discussions and do all the homework and you should get an A.
