    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have recommended this to my friends since there are almost all of the materials for the curse on this website.

    Course highlights:

mostly the highlights of this course was embedded through the lectures presented in class which you can easily find the materials in the curse hero website.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I will tell the students to go to everyday class and listen to Dr. Esdin lectures and also go to his office hours at least more than 3 times throughout the whole quarter. But try to be as through you can on his tests because his short essay questions might be tricky sometimes. Good Luck!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Though the course can be tough, it offers a lot of insights to basic biology and anatomy. Debs and Pfluegel make lectures applicable to real life. They stress application rather than memorization, which is tough but rewarding since you can then apply your knowledge to real life. Test questions ask you to interpret scenarios and use your knowledge to predict an outcome. For example, it will provide information and drawings and ask you to interpret it. When you become frustrated by needing to think instead of simply recalling facts, remember that this skill--knowledge application--is highly important and perhaps the most significant, insightful of all!

    Course highlights:

To me, the course was interesting because you could see what you learned everywhere. For example, when you see a bird and wonder how it breathes at such high altitude, you can think back to your anatomy knowledge on bird's respiratory system. Discussion sections also aim to provide real life scenarios. In one discussion, we used our knowledge about muscles to learn about Botox injections. In a nutshell, the course is highly applicable.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Of course, know the basics of systems, but you actually don't need to memorize all the detailed facts since the test is filled with diagrams and tests you on interpretation rather than straight memorization. I normally study about two weeks before the test, looking over the ppt slides and my notes. When you do the online readings, take notes on word document and accompany them with pictures. In the end, you will have compiled notes that you can use as a study guide instead of having to go back to the online courses. After you've read all your notes and the ppt slides, do all the online course quizzes and iclicker questions again. Make flashcards and draw pictures to reinforce your knowledge, and you will do fine on the tests.
