Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because it is an eye-opening course that allows students to learn about the origins of Colonial Latin America. You get to learn a lot of the history that isn't in regular historical textbooks. Most of this course's subject is told and based from the perspective of the Latin Americans, against the colonization of the Europeans.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was getting to read real-life experiences that took place during the colonization period. I got to learn so much about my native roots and how the Latin American continent resulted to be due to the sequence of events that took place. The natives of that land underwent a lot of prejudice and oppression under the control of the Europeans. Europeans were portrayed as greedy men, whose motives were driven by wealth and the desire to have power over an entire cultural group.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, make sure to pay attention to and categorize the themes in the readings assigned. If you would like to do really good in your exams, do all of the readings and apply some of the text's examples to the themes discussed in lecture. Attend all your lectures as well and answer the question to the study guides given. Make sure to attend your discussion sections because they are very helpful, especially office hours, where you can get many hints that will help you on the exams and written papers.
