Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is very engaging and allows students to talk about intersectional issues that one would not be able to comfortably talk about in other environments.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed learning more about class, race, and gender issues in America and other parts of the world. One of the best things I learned was about society's gender construction.

    Advice for students:

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was by far my favorite course that I have taken at UCLA this year. Professor Hong was very thorough with covering the overarching topics of the class and the readings were very intriguing and enlightening. This class really challenges the way you perceive cultural and societal norms when it comes to race, class, and sex.

    Course highlights:

It is extremely informative and incredibly eye opening on issues of racism, classism, and sexism as systems of oppression. I enjoyed my section with TA Antwan Simpkins because of his dedication to ensuring that every student understood the material whether it meant staying extra time and scheduling review session outside of class and section. He made the course also relatable and entertaining because if his humor, and ability to make connections to contemporary issues.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do the readings! A majority of what professor Hong covers in lecture has to do with themes discussed in the readings. Also make sure to understand how they relate as this knowledge will be incredibly pertinent to doing well in the midterm and final.
