    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it is a pre-requisite for many science majors. It is a challenging course but it prepares you very well for the MCAT. I also recommend this course because although it is challenging, you will learn a lot.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about chemistry and I learned new study techniques by taking this course. The highlights of this course were the quizzes because they raised my grade. I learned to never give up and always try my hardest because in the end it will all be worth it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to do all the homework problems assigned even if they are not part of your grade. I would also advise to study at least one week prior to an exam and to do all the practice exams in the course reader.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because it might be a bit fast paced and hard to understand at first but after one rewatches lectures and looks over the course reader, notes, etc. the concepts are very interesting. I begin to understand what actual thermodynamics and organic chemistry meant not what I had heard on social media. It actually becomes very interesting to be able to name carbon compounds and understand the change of work and heat a system releases or absorbs when it is done.

    Course highlights:

I would say the most interesting part of this course was organic chemistry. Nomenclature is pretty easy. It's mostly memorization but other concepts actually require you to understand the material because memorization might help you with one question but not all. For instance, when dealing with galvanic cells one cannot simply memorize which is doing oxidation or reduction it is best to understand what is going on.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Memorization will only be your friend for remembering prefixes, roots, and suffixes for naming carbon compounds. Everything else it is better to understand. Oh and you will not need the textbook if you take Scerri, everything and I mean everything is in his course reader. Definitely, use the previous test he provides in the back of his course reader, as a form of studying for his midterm and final; they will be your best friend. Trust me he recycles some of these questions. Good Luck.
